Heather’s passion for baking began in 1983. She and her mother started a tradition of baking chocolate chip pecan cookies during the Christmas season. This was their time together, just mother and daughter time. The experience made such an impression that Heather continued baking. Heather has spent years studying and perfecting the art of baking lemon bars, pecan pralines, and of course chocolate chip pecan cookies. Her mother’s advice is still essential as a stamp of approval.
Heather wanted to share her special talent of baking with friends and family and in the fall of 2007, Sweet Luxuries Bakery launched. As an elementary school teacher in central Houston, Heather began testing recipes with colleagues at no charge. Eventually she developed a reputation and made the incredible decision to leave the classroom and venture out into the world of entreprenuership.
Based on Heather’s philosophy, it is essential that our clients experience a delicious and luxurious product. We continue to prepare our baked goods in small batches using premium ingredients. Today, we continue to form new relationships locally and nationwide. Remarkably, her bakery exists not too far from the elementary school where the idea of owning a bakery became reality. You can find Heather and her delectable pastries inside The Library Coffee and Wine House.
